She asked the judge to reduce her sentence in court this morning and said her fatherinlaw, Charles Taylor didnt deserve to be here anymore. She killed Charles Taylor in april after stabbing him 29 times. Taylor is accused of later shooting her friend, sean ball. Former state senator Madison Marye has died at the age of 90. The shawsville democrat represented western virginia for almost three decades in the general assembly. A steeple that was perched atop the roof now sets in ruin about a quarter mile away. The churchs brick facade was peeled away. Stained glass windows are mangled and twisted. Just part of your life is gone. All kind of memories here. Theyre gone. Central baptist is an example of both the devastation in appomattox county and the communitys determination to persevere. Members of the Appomattox County High School Football Team showed up at the church early thursday morning to help clean up. All of the kids volunteered and said, coach, come pick us up. Come get us. Where can we meet and help . The team rallied around one of their own. Drew mann, a football player. My mom and dad got married in the church and i grew up here when i was younger. Its devastate to go see what happened to this place. So i need to help out. When they werent cleaning, Football Players held up signs asking for donations to help the community. One corner of the county where wednesdays tornado left a trail of damage.

The heavy rain is causing First Responders to gear up in case someone gets stuck in the rising water. Bobby haynes is one of 26 members of salems swift water rescue team, and says he has had to gear up and save someone from rough waters several times. He says crews have flood gauges throughout the area to keep track of the amount rising water. They also train every month on different swift water rescue techniques. Were told it only takes a few inches to a feet of water for your car to get stuck. And if you see deep water, the best thing you can do is turn around, dont drown. You talked to Law Enforcement and you talked to some other people out in the area, for, and you told me that there was some damage out on route 630. I am going to go check that out as soon as im no longer live on Television Just to see if i can find out exactly whats going on. But jean, definitely the scene out here right now is just a lot of damage. A lot of homes out here on route 460. This is just one of the areas that is seeing a lot of damage.
