The top doctor for the Woodstock and St. Thomas areas is pleading with people to limit contact after the region reported a record-high 47 new cases.
Joyce Lock, the medical officer of health for the Southwestern region, urged people to act as if the looming provincial lockdown – slated to begin at 12:01 a.m. on Boxing Day – is already in effect.

Drugs seized after break and enter
Police seized suspected pink fentanyl, methamphetamine and oxycodone after a Good Samaritan reported an alleged break and enter in Tillsonburg Wednesday night.

The Oxford OPP responded to the report at a home on Goshen Street in Tillsonburg. When officers arrived, they took two people into custody without incident.
A 24-year-old Tillsonburg woman faces charges of break and enter and possession of fentanyl, methamphetamine and oxycodone.
