Three motorists charged with DUI Quaydee Blackwell, 28, of Bloomsburg, has been charged by state police with DUI and careless driving on Interstate 180 in Montoursville about 5:20 p.m. on Jan. 23. Police alleged in court records that he was under the influence of a drug or a combination of drugs as well as alcohol. Blackwell was stopped for traveling on the left berm, police said. “A strong odor of burnt marijuana was coming from his 2010 Acura,” as well as from Blackwell himself, police said, adding that he admitted to smoking marijuana at home (earlier). In court paper, police allege that Blackwell also “imbibed a sufficient amount of of alcohol, rendering him incapable of safely driving. Police said he refused to submit a blood sample. He is free on $5,000 bail.

Convicted sex offender faces new charge JERSEY SHORE Convicted child sex offender Willie Merritt, 33, has been charged by the Tiadaghton Valley Regional police with failure to register his new address with the state police. Although he carried an official Northumberland address, he had been staying on-and-off at 427 S. Main St. in Jersey Shore from at least late December to late February, police said. Police said Merritt also failed to appear on Feb. 23 for sentencing in another criminal case, prompting Lycoming County court officials to file a bench warrant for his arrest. Arraigned before District Judge Jerry Lepley, Merritt is jailed in lieu of $20,000 bail.

Feb 24, 2021 John Eastlake, 79, of South Williamsport hiked to his heavenly home on Saturday, February 20, 2021 from UPMC Susquehanna Williamsport with his loving wife and all four children holding his hands. Born July 16, 1941 in Greenville, PA, John was the son of the late James A. Eastlake and A. Martha (Bricher) Eastlake. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his younger sister, Katherine at a very young age. John is survived by his wife of 56 years (June 6, 1964), Joan (Matovic) Eastlake, his daughter, Alicia (Greg) Swaggerty of Cocoa Beach, FL, daughter, Cynthia “Cyndi” (Randy) Jackemeyer of Fort Wayne, IN, son David (Cindy Casale) Eastlake of Williamsport, PA, son, Brian (Mindy) Eastlake of Spotsylvania, VA; six grandchildren, Danica & Samantha Swaggerty, Carolina & Sara Eastlake, Nate & Ashlee Jackemeyer. He is also survived by his brother Edward (Ellen) Eastlake of Springfield, MA, nieces Erica (Rob & son, Owen) Lucier of Palmer, MA and Rachel (Bret)
