good morning. it s thursday, september 7th. this morning hurricane irma is churning across the caribbean leaving a trail of destruction in its wake. the interior minister says the storm has reft at least eight people dead and 23 injured on the french island territory. hurricane irma lashed puerto rico with powerful winds and flooding, including rain. the island s electric utility said last night that over one million customers were left without power. more than two-thirds of the people who live on that island. two american tourists who were visiting san juan road out the storm in the parking garage of their hotel, and hurricane irma, as we mentioned, made landfall in the caribbean yesterday. early yesterday, in fact. the island of barbuda is now said to be practically
