With the start of the war, our nation needed the strength and talent of everyone, and the navy started the Program Women accepted for waives, women accepted for voluntary service or the w. A. V. E. S. She had a degree in business and was one of the first women to take courses at harvard. As the war moved on women took on greater and groater roles to parachute riggers to gunnery instructors. For my navy women were not allowed to serviceallow ed to serve overseas until the end of the war in 1944.
