It is 5 30 now on this tuesday february 6th. Lets find out about your accuweather out there with dave murphy. Its kind of cold this morning and karen rogers has your commute. Yes, it is. Two words we hate to hear. Messy commute but not today. Not today. Thats tomorrow. Tomorrow morning well have to keep our eyes on it. Weather center today, though, shows you nothing worse than increasing clouds overnight and you can see the clouds in place now. At the same time there are some breaks out to the west of us and we do expect to transition to at least some sun later today. Temperatures are cold this morning, though. Were at 28 in philadelphia, 26 in trenton, 27 degrees in wilmington. 25 over here in allentown. 24 in millville. Not a whole lot of wind out there, so the wind chills really not too big of a factor. Right now were still feeling like its about 22 in philadelphia. So basically were taking about five or 6 degrees off the temperature in terms of those wind chills. Thats really more of a function of just how cold it is, not that the winds are all that strong. And as we go through we go through the day it does get better. 36 degrees by 11 oclock which is where we wound up for a high yesterday. This model has 41. Im technically going to go 40 but either way less wind. It will actually feel like its about 40 and the sunshine will start to come out. The issue that we have of course is tomorrow morning where we are going to get a wintry mix moving in and up in the poconos its a winter storm watch wednesday morning for snow here and lancaster theyve added an advisory. I wouldnt be shocked if we get advisories in some of these counties. The idea is in the morning well have a wintry mix of snow, some sleet, some freezing rain before a changeover to rain from south to north as we go through the morning. Ill have details on all of that coming up from accuweather. For now, karen, we are kind of hedging for maybe a little bit of slipperiness tomorrow morning. Yeah, were worried about that for tomorrow. This morning we have our own fair share of problems and its because of amtrak issues. Now the Chestnut Hill west line is suspended. Chestnut hill east is running okay. West is suspended. 20 minute delays with outbound trains with the trenton line because of an amtrak wire problems. Watch for delays causing problems and the suspension of the Chestnut Hill west line. Traffic is moving a lock better on the schuylkill at south street. Crews scheduled to return tonight at 9 oclock and shut it down by 11 oclock once again, the schuylkill westbound theyre shutting down. Watch for this accident on 202 dekalb bike in Lower Gwynedd township. The one in kennett township just cleared matt. Thank you, karen. Come thursday, the Art Museum Steps will be a sea of green. The eagles championship parade starts at the Sports Complex at broad street and pattison avenue wraps around city hall. Dont know which way yet culminating at the end of the ben franklin parkway. Thats where we find action News Reporter Jeanette Reyes checking on on the parade route. Reporter were already seeing some of the things being put into place for this parade. Im going to step out of the way so you can see it. You can see the stage there, we have the massive speakers of course. Of course much more is to come. This has been kind of in the works for the last several days before the eagles even won the championship but they didnt want to put it out there because they didnt want to jinx it of course. With the city of philadelphia still recovering from last stopping and historic game sunday night, plans are now under way for the massive championship parade that will take place on thursday. You can already see the beginnings of an allout production. Giant speaker boxes and a stage were being set up monday afternoon. But preparations began over the weekend well before the eagles got their hands on that coveted lombardi trophy. The city quietly put down barricades and port a potties. Parking restrictions were posted wednesday night to make way for up to 2 million people. Our school is closed that day so were going have nothing else to do and the birds won so whew were going to celebrate. Im going to be here. Super psyched for philly. This is fantastic. Im really excited about the eagles. Reporter the parade will begin in south philadelphia at broad and pattison and will head north likely along broad and then j. F. K. And then the parkway making its way to the art museum. We always have a lot of negative press and we need this as a city to come together. Its bringing the city together. I love that. This is what we need. Enough with all this hate and this and that. Doesnt matter whose side youre on. Football brings the world together. Reporter philadelphia Public Schools will be closed on thursday so well see the kids celebrating out there as well. But i just saw the production trucks pull up a few seconds ago. I have gotten two questions about this. This is not closed yet. Eakins oval, the parkway is not closed as of right now. There will be a press conference set for 9 oclock this morning for Additional Details and time line for the parade come thursday. Well keep you posted on all of that as soon as we get that information. Reporting live at the Philadelphia Museum of art, Jeanette Reyes channel6 action news. All right, jeanette thank you. Hotel rooms along broad street and the parkway are already booked up as eagles fans look for a spot to watch the victory parade. The smith family from new jersey had booked a room on the parkway for tuesday. They tried to change their Hotel Reservations to wednesday and thursday nights but were told they were out of luck. Still, some select hotels are offering some private event spaces for parade day. They can still come here and watch the parade. We do have urban farmer and urban farmer patio which is right on the parkway so you can watch it from there. Some restaurants and bars still have some availability as well. And dont forget to tune into our live coverage of the championship parade this thursday starting at 11 00 a. M. Time is now 5 36. A former eagle who is still a bird at heart has become an honorary member of the championship team. John dorenbos posted this photo alongside the super bowl trophy and his wife. The long snapper spent 11 years with the eagles. The team traded him to the saints in the off season and then dorenbos had to undergo a career ending emergency heart surgery a short time later. Dorenbos was not only on the field for the super bowl celebration, he told reporters that eagles owner Jeffrey Lurie also made sure that dorenbos will get a ring. M. V. P. Nick foles was able to get a small taste of what thursdays parade around here might feel like. The quarterback was the guest of honor at Walt Disney World in florida yesterday. As if winning the super bowl wasnt thrilling enough foles also took a ride on the big Thunder Mountain railroad. Philadelphia area boston markets have a deal thats just for the birds or i should say eagles fans. You may remember area boston markets temporarily changed their name to philly market in honor of the eagles. Today 11 locations in philadelphia and south jersey will be offering free rotisserie chickens to the first 52 early birds who show up in line in celebration of the eagles historic super bowl lii win. So, david, today would have been the best day for the parade weatherwise. I know logistics it wouldnt work. They were all giving news conferences in less than 24 hours ago out in minnesota so i think it was just too much of a sure. And you got to logistically plan the whole thing, too. Thursday wont be too bad. You got to bundle up. Its going to be like thanksgiving day parades. We can definitely get it done on thursday. Storm tracker6 live double scan right now and we are essentially dry out in pottsville and areas of the poconos theres a little bit of light snow this morning. Not expecting that to have an impact locally. As we take a look outside, we have sky6 camera looking down the parkway at the scene of all of the climactic activity i guess it would be in front of the art museum. Theyve got the eagles logo and the eagles in front of the art museum. This is where the parade is going to end on thursday and we expect bright sunshine for thursday even though its a little bit cold and breezy. 28 degrees right now in philadelphia, winds out of the south at six. Your wind chill currently 22. It is a and bundler this morning although the winds themselves arent all that strong. 25 in allentown, 24 reading, 26 trenton, 27 wilmington and 24 in millville, 34 in cape may. And as we take a look at the cloud cover, it has built up overnight. There are some breaks out to the west though and we do expect to transition from clouds to at least some sunny breaks later on today. 30 degrees by 8 oclock. Still cold on the bus stop but 33 by 10 oclock and then 37 by noon which is better than yesterdays high. Today we expect to get up to about 40 for a high around 3 oclock, back to 37 by 6 oclock. Again, winds a lot less today. High temperatures across the region, still stuck in the mid 30s today in allentown and reading. 32 inin trenton, 40 in philadelphia, 41 in wilmington and 42 and 43 across south jersey. Looks like cape may gets to about 42. Here comes the issue for tomorrow morning. By 5 30 were probably still dry. Start of the Early Morning commute gets under way fine. Then between 5 30 and 7 00 we see some snow arriving across the region and the farther south you go the better chance you have of some mixing with some sleet, maybe some freezing rain. Now as you get down into millville and dover, those southern areas, you probably get nothing but rain. Then we push up to about 9 oclock and the model still wants to kind of take the bulk of this precipitation north but notice how it still is snow or maybe some wintry mixing so i could see the bulk of the morning rush hour in philadelphia a little bit slippery but improving with warmer air coming in. Northern and western suburbs probably a little bit more of an issue. Then the warm air continues to push in. More moisture arrives and by noon, were transitioning to rain all the way up close to allentown, maybe some mixing still left there at 12 oclock and we transition to all rain later in the afternoon to the north. What are we expecting out of this . First of all the whole thing gets off the coast by about 9 oclock. A coating to an inch likely gets washed away by the rain eventually later on tomorrow morning. And then one to 3 inches of snow in the northern and western suburbs that largely also gets warned away. Three to 6 inches starting in areas close to allentown. Depends on where you are. Down south all rain. In the middle snow changing to rain. Mainly snow farther to the north. For the parade we are looking at a sunny day after all that of messy wednesday weather but its going to be cold. Well get up to about 34 by 3 oclock in front of the art museum but wind chills will be in the low 20s. Heres a quick look at your seven day. Today 40 degrees, no issues. Tomorrow an accuweather alert for that wintry mix in the morning that will change to rain from south to north an afternoon high of 42. Then for the parade sunny and brisk with a high of 34. Wind chills in the 20s. Back to 40 on friday and for the weekend, 47 with more clouds on saturday. Saturday night in through sunday some periods of rain are possible. Sundays high, though, 51 and monday not too bad, chilly but 44 which is still about a degree above average. Thanks, david. 5 42 just about.
