Throughout the ages, scientists have sought to explain the unexplainable, to shed light on the shadows of the universe’s mysteries. However, an innumerable amount of ideas have been and will continue to be proven wrong. For example, we used to think the Sun revolves around the Earth and that our planet is flat (some holdouts notwithstanding).
To quote American historian Will Durant: “Education is a progressive discovery of our own ignorance.”

10 Bode’s Law
Otherwise known as the Titius-Bode law, this particular hypothesis was used to predict the spacing between the planets in our solar system. (It’s basically a simple numerical formula.) German astronomer Johann Daniel Titius was the first to create the empirical rule, which seemed to reliably predict the distances of each planet from the Sun. The new COVID-19-related guidance takes effect a week after San Diego County moved into the orange tier, the second-least-restrictive level in the state’s reopening framework.
The new rules for indoor live events are as follows in the orange tier:
• For venues with a capacity of up to 1,500 people, attendance will be limited to 15 percent of capacity or 200 people and increase to 35 percent if all guests show proof of a negative coronavirus test or full vaccination against COVID-19.
Now that we’ve “celebrated” the first anniversary of COVID-19 in California, it’s a good time to take stock of the state’s response.
From the beginning, the Golden State has taken an aggressive stance toward the epidemic, including imposing the earliest shelter-in-place order in the nation; ceasing in-person schooling for the vast majority of public-school kids; shuttering churches, parks, and playgrounds; mandating masks, with hefty fines for violators; and forcing the closure of “non-essential” businesses that cannot operate using distancing technologies, such as videoconferencing. Even Disneyland has been closed since March 2020. In short, California has followed one of the strictest lockdowns in the country.
