If a picture is worth a 1,000 words, then the photos at the Madison County Courthouse could fill volumes.
The 100-year-old courthouseis home to numerous pictures detailing the countyâs history. Itâs the courthouse centennial committeeâs hope that residents will take self-guided tours of the facility this month to learn more about the county and the building.
The expectation is that residents will do so prior to the Dec. 19, ribbon cutting to be held at noon on the courthouse steps to honor the 100th anniversary of the building.
A short program is planned to honor the occasion with Madison County Commissioner John Weber and new state representative, giving a short speech. Bands from Sugar-Salem and Madison high schools will help celebrate the event by playing patriotic music and Christmas carols.
