That is the reality because of the failure of the Republican Leadership to work on the minimum wage. The president has been very clear in his support of the 12 an hour proposal. I was strongly supportive of that. Ill believe is that there should be a federal floor, and state and local levels should be able to go above that to reflect the fact that it costs more to live in seattle and los angeles than in another part of the United States. But regardless of where you live, you should have a floor that enables you not to have to live in poverty. At 7. 25 an hour, we have folks working 4050 hours a week and going to the food pantry.
