Ben Ward was riding on his powerful blue Yamaha motorcycle on the A29 at Broadbridge Heath near Horsham. The 29-year-old was seen overtaking vehicles “out of nowhere” along with David Baker, aged 39. At Hove Crown Court, some witnesses who saw the men believed they were racing each other. They described both men’s riding as “crazy” and “dangerous”, with some fearing the men were going to get themselves killed.
The scene of the crash at Ringmer A DANGEROUS driver wrote-off his BMW just a day after buying it when he crashed into a tractor on a country road. Harry Dennis, 21, bought the new vehicle and wanted to take it for a spin, racing his friend Danny Stiller, 21. The pair were seen by witnesses driving at high-speed near The Broyle, Ringmer. Dennis overtook Stiller in his Honda Civic, clocking an average speed of 101mph on the B2192 towards Halland. At a turn in the road, Dennis’s BMW struck a tractor driven by Jeremy Sampson, who suffered serious injuries including a broken cheek bone.
