Belarus-Tajikistan trade, economic cooperation discussed
MINSK, 6 April (BelTA) – As a Belarusian delegation visited Tajikistan, Belarusian Agriculture and Food Minister Ivan Krupko met with Deputy Prime Minister of Tajikistan Gulmakhmadzoda Davlatshoh Kurbonali. The sides discussed manufacturing cooperation and the development of trade and economic cooperation, the Belarusian Agriculture and Food Ministry press service told BelTA.
Belarus and Tajikistan have signed over 60 bilateral agreements. Regular sessions of the Belarus-Tajikistan intergovernmental commission on trade and economic cooperation are held. The sessions help implement new bilateral projects and help increase trade turnover.
Since 2016 Belarus-Tajikistan trade has increased by 5.5 times to $111.7 in 2020. Belarus export rose by virtually 6.2 times to $109.6 million or 330.1% as against 2019. Import totaled $2.1 million. Foreign trade surplus stood at $107.5 million.
Minister: Belarus, Tajikistan should step up cooperation in agriculture

MINSK, 5 April (BelTA) – Belarus and Tajikistan should intensify efforts to implement mutually beneficial projects in agriculture and manufacturing, Belarus Agriculture and Food Minister Ivan Krupko said at the 14th session of the Belarus-Tajikistan intergovernmental commission for trade and economic cooperation in Dushanbe, BelTA learned from the press service of the Agriculture and Food Ministry.
“At the moment, our task is to maintain momentum in bilateral trade, increase the share of science-intensive and high-tech products in trade, as well as more actively implement mutually beneficial projects, primarily in agriculture and manufacturing,” Ivan Krupko said.
