Belarus-Tajikistan trade, economic cooperation discussed
MINSK, 6 April (BelTA) – As a Belarusian delegation visited Tajikistan, Belarusian Agriculture and Food Minister Ivan Krupko met with Deputy Prime Minister of Tajikistan Gulmakhmadzoda Davlatshoh Kurbonali. The sides discussed manufacturing cooperation and the development of trade and economic cooperation, the Belarusian Agriculture and Food Ministry press service told BelTA.
Belarus and Tajikistan have signed over 60 bilateral agreements. Regular sessions of the Belarus-Tajikistan intergovernmental commission on trade and economic cooperation are held. The sessions help implement new bilateral projects and help increase trade turnover.
Since 2016 Belarus-Tajikistan trade has increased by 5.5 times to $111.7 in 2020. Belarus' export rose by virtually 6.2 times to $109.6 million or 330.1% as against 2019. Import totaled $2.1 million. Foreign trade surplus stood at $107.5 million.
