Career High 10 Strikeouts for Sandercock Leads Noles Past Yellow Jackets 3-2

ATLANTA, Ga. – The Third-ranked Florida State softball team (23-1) earned a series sweep over Georgia Tech (15-8) with a 3-2 win on Sunday afternoon. Kathryn Sandercock pitched a career game, recording a career-high 10 strikeouts in just five innings of work. Danielle Watson pitched the first two innings for the Noles, recording two strikeouts of her own. The Seminoles got on the board in the first inning on a two-out rally. Kalei Harding got on base first with a walk and advanced to second after a Michaela Edenfield singled to left field. Noles Defeats Georgia Tech Twice On Marathon Day of Softball

ATLANTA, Ga. – The Third-ranked Florida State softball team (22-1) took down Georgia Tech (15-7) twice on Friday in Atlanta in a marathon day of softball. The Noles defeated the Yellow Jackets 4-1 in game one and 6-2 in a 12-inning game two. Game two lasted four hours and 12 minutes. Game 1: Florida State 4, Georgia Tech 1 Danielle Watson pitched her second complete game of the season, allowing just one run on three hits. She recorded six strikeouts and improved to 9-1 on the season as the Seminoles defeated the Yellow Jackets 4-1. Softball Adjusts Schedule for Weekend Series at Georgia Tech

TALLAHASSEE, FLA. – The Third-ranked Florida State softball team (20-1) begins their stretch of five straight road games on Friday, March 11 at Georgia Tech. The Seminoles and the Yellow Jackets play on Friday at 6 PM, Saturday at 2 PM and Sunday at 1 PM. Friday and Sunday’s games are on ACCNX while Saturday’s game is on the ACC Network. Florida State is 65-26 all-time against Georgia Tech. The two teams played in a three games series in Atlanta last season with FSU coming away with a win in all three games (8-1, 7-3, 5-4). Through 21 games the Seminole pitching staff of Kathryn Sandercock (10-0), Danielle Watson (8-1), Emma Wilson (1-0), Brianna Enter (1-0) and Mack Leonard (0-0) have combined to go 20-1 with a 1.29 ERA. Softball Is Home Against Furman and Holy Cross

TALLAHASSEE, FLA. – The Third-ranked Florida State softball team (19-1) continues their home stretch with a pair of midweek games against Furman (9-9) on Tuesday, March 8 at 6 PM and against Holy Cross (2-7) on Wednesday, March 9 at 6 PM. Both games will be on ACCNX. Florida State is 12-1 all-time against Furman. The last time the two teams met was in 2017 at the Unconquered Invitational. FSU won 5-1 and 9-1. This will be the second meeting between FSU and Holy Cross. The first meeting was in 2020 when FSU won 8-0 in six innings. Softball Begins ACC Play Against Pitt

TALLAHASSEE, FLA. (Seminoles.com) – The Third-ranked Florida State softball team (17-0) begins ACC play on Friday, March 4 against Pitt at 6:00 PM at JoAnne Graf Field. ACC regular-season series are back to three games this season. Friday (1 PM) and Sunday’s (12 PM) games will be streamed on ACCNX while Saturday’s game will not be televised. The Seminoles look to remain unbeaten this season after starting 17-0 and 11-0 at the Seminoles Softball Complex. This is the fourth-longest winning streak to start a season in program history and the second-longest under head coach Lonni Alameda. In 1992, the Seminoles started the season on a 25 game winning streak, in 2019 the Noles won 22 straight games and in 1993 FSU won 21 straight games to start the season. The Seminoles have been the elite team in the Atlantic Coast Conference for several years.
