Dies due to cardiac arrest K V Anand, noted Tamil film director and cinematographer died here early on Friday due to cardiac arrest, sources close to his family said. He passed away in a hospital at 3 AM due to a cardiac arrest, he was 54 years old, Riaz K Ahmed, a film industry publicist and movie buff said.
Anand began his career as a cinematographer in Malayalam movie Thenmavin Kombath in 1994 and following a decade of work as a cinematographer he made his directorial debut in Tamil flick Kana Kanden (2005). Thenmavin Kombath bagged the national award (Best Cinematography) for Anand.

Leading director and cinematographer K.V. Anand died early Friday morning in Chennai after a cardiac arrest. He was 54.
“My deepest condolences to KV Anand Sir’s family. Rest In Peace sir,” tweeted music director D Imaan. Added cinematographer-director Santosh Sivan on his Twitter page: “KV Anand RIP god bless.”
And actor Gautham Karthik tweeted: “We’ve lost a wonderful creator. #KVAnand sir may you rest in peace. My condolences to the family.” Music director Harris Jayaraj said on Twitter: “Unfortunate and extremely shock to hear this devastating News. RIP my friend KV Anand.”

KV Anand s sudden demise has shocked everyone in Tamil film industry. Anand started his career as a freelance photojournalist and had a great command over the visual department.
He was the man behind the grand cinematography of many of Shankar s films including Mudhalvan, Nayak: The Real Hero, Boys, and Sivaji. Especially, the songs in Sivaji had a tremendous buzz for the crystal clear grand visuals.
Anand is also a frequent collaborator of Suriya with whom he had worked in films like Ayan, Maattraan, and the recent Kaappaan, their combination had a separate fanbase.
