Incredible Boston Review and its lead ed editors. All of us have been proud contributors to the rich intellectual tradition curated by Boston Review, and i just think its really important to say in this moment before our countrys more famous publications were willing to run pieces on police and prison abolition, racial capitalism, black radical thought and the ethics of resistance, the boston the review really provided one of the major forums for these ideas to be debated with seriousness and subtlety, and it still does. There are not many publications who can match Boston Reviews commitment to publishing black thinkers, giving space to black liberation across the political spectrum or the bolder questions with of justice, democracy and citizenship. So its a real honor to be here at a panel cohosted by Boston Review. Both about the reality of the terror and anxiety and worry that comes along with being a parent of black children and particularly black boys in the United States at this moment but its also filled with my desire for them to lead a life of beauty and joy.
