Spector was the lead singer for the Ronettes singing group, active from 1957 to 1967 and most famed for “Be My Baby.” The group also included her elder sister and a cousin. She pursued a solo career until her death.
Ronnie Spector, the cat-eyed, bee-hived rock ‘n’ roll siren who sang such 1960s hits as “Be My Baby,” “Baby I Love You” and “Walking in the Rain” as the leader of the girl group the Ronettes, has died.
