Muscat: A young Omani named as one of Google s developer experts and is considered the first expert in the Middle East and North Africa in the field of Firebase.
The Ministry of Transport, Communications and Information Technology said, “We are happy that Mahmoud Al Nafie has been selected as an expert in Google Developers, Omani competencies are able to put their digital fingerprints locally and globally. We are proud of him and his colleague who graduated from the SAS program.
Mahmoud Al Nafie commented on the announcement, I’m happy to be part of the Google Developer experts family as first Firebase expert in Middle East and North Africa, and the first Google developers experts from Oman.
Planning tough actions including lockdown to prevent COVID-19 spread: Supreme Committee

Muscat: More stringent decisions may be taken to prevent the spread of COVID-19 pandemic in Dhofar Governorate including complete closure if the epidemiological situation requires it, the Supreme Committee said on Friday.
A statement issued online by Oman News Agency, (ONA) said, ”The Supreme Committee in charge of dealing with Covid 19 has decides to extend the period of closing commercial activities and preventing movement at night in Dhofar Governorate, starting from 6 pm until 5 am starting from 17th April 2021 until further notice.”
The statement read, ”The Supreme Committee confirmed that the decision to prevent movement in Dhofar Governorate during night period is subject to review at a later stage, according to the developments of the epidemiological indicators, and that it is taking more stringent decisions to prevent the spread of the epidemic, including
