Citizens Urged to Take Tuscaloosa Transit Survey
Tuscaloosa municipal leaders are seeking the community s input regarding public transportation in the Druid City.
As a part of Elevate Tuscaloosa, the city is partnering with the Tuscaloosa Transit Authority to create a survey for community members to offer their opinions about the public transit system that is currently in place. City leaders are hoping that the responses they receive will turn into action items to improve the system.
“A robust public transportation system is a pillar of a well-designed city,” Mayor Walt Maddox said in a Monday afternoon press release. “Thanks to Elevate Tuscaloosa, our city is in the position to evaluate our current public transportation system and devote the resources to create and execute a comprehensive plan for improvements.”

As the coronavirus continues to spread throughout the community, the West Alabama Food Bank needs the public s help trekking through the post-holiday lull in food donations.
During November and December, food pantries like WAFB experience increased levels of volunteering and food donations due to an eagerness in do-gooders to give back to their communities. This year, however, January seems longer and harder for more people in West Alabama than ever before.
WAFB Volunteer Coordinator Tucker Brown explained that the University of Alabama’s two-week moratorium added to the absence of volunteers, as many are UA students and university-affiliated clubs and organizations.
