The chief executive officer of the Office of the Public Protector, Thandi Sibanyoni, said impeached Public Protector Busisiwe Mkhwebane ignored advice that the office could not foot her accommodation bill.
Besides the over R30 million paid in legal fees for the defence of former Public Protector Busisiwe Mkhwebane, the report shows that at least R8.4 million has been set aside for her end-of-service gratuity.
Axed public protector Busisiwe Mkhwebane has written to the public protector’s office seeking a multimillion-rand payout, on the basis that her term was supposed to end this month.
