As the agitation against the three contentious farm laws entered its 19th day on Monday, Union agriculture minister Narendra Singh Tomar said the Centre was ready to discuss every clause of the three contentious farm laws with the protesting farmers and that the government is engaging with farmer leaders to decide on the next date of talks.

NEW DELHI: As the farmers protest against the three agriculture laws entered the third week, representatives of more than two dozen farmers unions observed a day-long hunger strike on Monday. The unions claimed that demonstrations took place at several places across the country. Delhi chief minister Arvind Kejriwal as well as several leaders of his Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) joined the fast to support the farmers.
Meanwhile, defence minister Rajnath Singh reiterated that agriculture was a mother sector and there was no question of taking any retrograde steps against it ever.

Noida: The protesting farmers vacated the Noida-Delhi border at Chilla on Sunday. The move was taken by the protesting farmers following a late-night meeting with Union Defence Minister Rajnath Singh and Agriculture and Farmer Welfare Minister Narendra Singh Tomar.
The road was blocked for around two weeks since December 1. The farmers occupied the spot for their sit-in protest against the Centre s farm laws. After the spot was vacated, normal traffic resumed in the Noida-Delhi via Chilla border. The officials said that the traffic movement via Kalindi Kunj and DND routes were also normal.
