The Rajya Sabha has passed two bills to include more castes and subcastes from Andhra Pradesh and Odisha in the ST list. Union minister for tribal affairs Arjun Munda moved the Constitution (Scheduled Tribes) Order (Amendment) Bill, 2024, and The Constitution (Scheduled Castes and Scheduled Tribes) Order (Amendment) Bill, 2024, for consideration and passing in the Rajya Sabha.

Ranchi: Come February and thousands of tribals from across India will converge in New Delhi, demanding converted tribals be removed from the ST list i.
Around 5,000 tribals from across the state participated in the 'Ulgulan Adivasi Delisting Maharally' to put pressure on the government to delist all tribals who had converted to Christianity or Islam. The rally was organised by Janajati Suraksha Manch (JSM), which is supported by the RSS. BJP lawmakers also participated in the rally. The tribals demand the delisting of converted ones from the ST list and urge political parties to resist from giving tickets to converted tribals on ST seats.
