Reporter the judge handed down the harshst penalty to him. 15 years to life in state prison for all three former a guards. Ferries, rodriguez, and lubrin have been found guilty of seconddegree murder of the mentally ill inmate. He was first down deceased in his cell in august of 2015. Family members of the guard sobbed openly. Many asked the judge for leniency in letters, but the only letter read today came from michaels sister shannon who spoke about her life sentence when she found out about his death. The District Attorney and sheriff spoke moments after the sentencing was handed down.
