Restaurant in central Alberta serving diners in defiance of COVID-19 health orders
A central Alberta restaurant was open for eat-in diners over the weekend, defying an Alberta Health Services closure order issued to the business on Friday.

Wood Buffalo RCMP are investigating a drowning at a MacDonald Island Park pool that occurred earlier this month.
On Dec. 12 at around noon, police were asked to help paramedics that had responded to the drowning. The victim was brought to hospital. Five days later, he was airlifted to an Edmonton hospital. The man died the next day on Dec. 18.

Cpl. Teri-Ann Bakker said the man had booked a time to use the pool when the facility was still open to the public. Provincial health restrictions required MacDonald Island Park to close its recreation centre on Dec. 18.
