Undermain Theatre to stream ambitious season of shows from its legendary Deep Ellum basement The seven productions include a modern classic and the regional premiere of a play about Dallas bluesman Blind Lemon Jefferson. Lonesome Blues co-writer Akin Babatundé starred as musician Blind Lemon Jefferson in the 2018 off-Broadway premiere of his and Alan Govenar s play about the Deep Ellum bluesman. Undermain Theatre is mounting a new production, with a new cast, as part of its 2021 virtual spring season.(Katherine Owens) You are forgiven for mistaking Undermain Theatre’s 2021 plans for another of the company’s eclectic, ambitious seasons of shows.
