Clemson s Throwers Travel to ACU for Oliver Jackson Twilight Meet – Clemson Tigers Official Athletics Site

CLEMSON, S.C. Roje Stona, Veronica Fraley and Danielle Sloley will represent the Clemson track and field program on Wednesday, April 21, at the Oliver Jackson Twilight meet in Abilene, Texas. Wednesday’s competition will begin at 2:30 p.m. (EST) with the women’s shot put. The men’s discus throw will get underway at 5:30 p.m. and will be immediately followed by the women’s discus.  Fraley enters the mid-week action with heaps of momentum following her first four meets of the season. At the Tennessee Relays on April 9, Fraley set Clemson’s school record in the women’s discus throw and became the No. 2 all-time performer in the women’s shot put. Her school-record toss of 56.70 meters (186 feet) broke Jamine Moton’s long-standing discus record of 55.52m (182-2) set back in 2001. Bucs set personal marks at Tennessee Relays in Knoxville

SHARE ON: (Contributed/ETSU Bucs) ETSU’s men’s and women’s track and field teams traveled to Knoxville, Tennessee, on April 8 and April 9 to compete in the Tennessee Relays.  Due to weather conditions, day three of the race was moved up to April 9 following the day two events. Starting off with the women, freshman Lindsay Cooper (Charlotte, North Carolina) ran the women’s 100m hurdles with a new personal-best time of 14.15s in the second meet of her college career.   The women’s 800m broke two athletes’ personal records. Junior Jessica Lord (Morristown, Tennessee) finished with a time of 2:10.32, placing her at seventh by just a second’s difference behind the top five. Sophomore Julia Karsten (Old Hickory, Tennessee) came in at 2:14.92.  

Bahamians experience success in collegiate meets - The Nassau Guardian

Bahamians experience success in collegiate meets Jyles Etienne. It was another successful weekend for Bahamians participating on the National Collegiate Athletic Association (NCAA) Division I circuit as several athletes had top finishes. In neighboring Coral Gables, Florida, it was Xavier Coakley from the University of Miami Hurricanes who won the men’s 110 meters (m) hurdles race at the Hurricane Alumni Invitational at Cobb Stadium. The senior powered his way to a personal best of 13.81 seconds. He was the only competitor to go under 14 seconds in that race. With that time, he now has the 20th fastest time in the NCAA Division I rankings.
