New TBI lab, Tennessee Highway Patrol Headquarters open in Jackson
The Tennessee Bureau of Investigation and the Tennessee Highway Patrol officially opened the Special Agent De’Greaun Reshun Frazier Crime Lab and Regional Headquarters and the Tennessee Highway Patrol District Eight Headquarters in Jackson Friday afternoon, completing a five-year process that will create “a quicker path to justice,” according to TBI Director David Rausch.
“This location in Hub City puts us at the hub of activity in West Tennessee,” said Rausch. “Now, a majority of our law enforcement partners will have a shorter drive time as they drop off and pick up evidence. Being here also allows for a quicker response time.”
ELIZABETHTON â A man who had been listed as a missing person since Monday was found dead after his car was found in the Watauga River adjacent to the Broad Street Extension around 5 pm. Wednesday.
The Tennessee Highway Patrol identified the victim of the crash as Tyler Warren, 19. On Tuesday, the Elizabethton Police Department reported Warren as a missing person and that he had last been seen on Monday. In a preliminary report, Trooper Michael Brown said Warren was driving north on Broad Street when his vehicle went off the left side of the road and into the river. Brown said speed was believed to be a factor in incident.
