HOLMES, PA A Sonic Drive-In restaurant in Delaware County is closing its door, affecting nearly two dozen workers.
According to a Worker Adjustment and Retraining Notification (WARN) notice filed on Dec. 16, the Sonic Drive-In located at 2610 E. Macdade Blvd. in Holmes is closing.
That location is operated by Drumore Restco, according to the notice.

The WARN notice says 21 people are affected by the closure.
Sonic has 3,497 locations nationwide, with 15 in Pennsylvania. However, WARN notices were filed for nine other Pennsylvania Sonic locations.

NORRISTOWN, PA The pandemic s impacts continue to be felt across numerous businesses around Pennsylvania, as Sonic now plans to close the doors of several of its restaurants in Montgomery County.
Among those shutting down is the Sonic Drive-In located on 2901 Swede Road, according to WARN notice filed with the Pennsylvania Department of Labor and Industry this month. It employed 28 people.

PHILADELPHIA A Sonic Drive-In restaurant in Philadelphia is closing its door, affecting nearly two dozen workers.
According to a Worker Adjustment and Retraining Notification (WARN) notice filed on Dec. 16, the Sonic Drive-In located at 2201 E. Butler St. in Philadelphia is closing.
That location is operated by MADK, LP, according to the notice.

Ten Sonic Drive-In locations closed in Pennsylvania last week.
A Sonic Drive-In franchisee filed a WARN (Worker Adjustment and Retraining Notification) notice last week for the 10 locations. The Lehigh Valley’s only Sonic Drive-In on Airport Road in Allentown is not among the closures.
The franchisee said in the WARN notice that the closures are due to unforeseen challenges to normal business operations. The WARN notices were dated Dec. 15 and the closing of the locations were effective as of Dec. 16.
Capital Area Transit and Rabbittransit announce plans to merge

Two central Pennsylvania transit agencies that have been working together for years have announced that they’re merging.
Rabbittransit and Capital Area Transit plan to merge into a single entity to be called the Susquehanna Regional Transportation Authority.
The two agencies said that the merger “will provide opportunities for increased levels of mobility and result in improved efficiencies for operations.”
“The new, joint authority will be able to leverage the buying power of a larger organization, eliminate duplicative operations and have greater opportunity to qualify for discretionary grants,” the agencies said in a press release.
