Accelerate Health Equity, a new collaboration between Philly Hospitals, insurers and colleges, will address health disparities

To address health inequities in Philadelphia, 10 insurers, health care systems and medical schools are joining forces with the city to form Accelerate Health Equity. The initiative seeks to improve racial disparities in heart disease, colorectal cancer, obesity, diabetes and other areas of concern. Participants include IBX, Penn Medicine, Jefferson Health, Temple Health, CHOP, Main Line Health, Drexel University and PCOM.

PHILADELPHIA Ten Philadelphia high schools have been named among the best schools in Pennsylvania, with two in the top 10, according to a new ranking from U.S. News and World Report. The top-ranked Pennsylvania school was Julia R. Masterman Secondary School, coming in at 18th overall. Central High School was ranked third statewide and No. 229 nationwide.
