Over 1,592-acre state land retrieved from land grabbers

National March 1, 2021 FAISALABAD: The district administration has retrieved over 1,592 acres commercial/agriculture state land worth Rs 13 billion from land grabbers during the last 23 days. Deputy Commissioner Muhammad Ali informed in a briefing session on Sunday that over 207 acres land worth Rs 4.28 billion had been retrieved in Tehsil Sadar so far. Similarly, he added, 6-Kkanal land worth Rs 2.73 billion in Tehsil City, over 335 acres in Tehsil Jaranwala and over 50 acres land worth Rs 628.9 million had been retrieved in Tehsil Tandlianwala. Meanwhile, Deputy Commissioner Muhammad Ali while addressing a District Vigilance Committee meeting said that the district administration would resolve the problems of kiln workers on top priority. He said that the departments concerned should improve their performance and mobilise the kiln owners to pay wages and give social security cards to the workers.

DDC approves 115 uplift schemes National February 22, 2021 FAISALABAD: The District Development Committee has approved the implementation on 115 development schemes for regional development and public welfare at a cost of Rs 270.3 million. The District Development Committee meeting was held under the chairmanship of Deputy Commissioner Muhammad Ali in which Deputy Director Development Tahir Mehmood briefed about the technical and administrative aspects of various development schemes. Additional Deputy Commissioner Finance Afifa Shajia, Officers of Local Government, Wasa, FDA and other departments were also present. The meeting was informed that the under the SDGs development package schemes of roads, Wasa, FDA, Local Government and Fesco would be completed. Reviewing the schemes approved during the meeting, the DC said that expeditious departmental measures should be taken so that these schemes could be completed earlier. He said that the problem should be solved immediately

Smart lockdown extended to 2 cities Lahore January 19, 2021 LAHORE:The Punjab government has extended smart lockdown in two cities in hot spot areas with maximum emergence of COVID-19 cases amidst the rising second wave of corona virus. According to separate notifications issued by Primary and Secondary Healthcare Department (P&SHD), Punjab, on Monday, the smart lockdown has been imposed in hots pot areas of Gujranwala and Lahore till 25 January and 29 January respectively. The smart lockdown in Lahore district has been imposed in 17 hots pot areas in four towns, including Allama Iqbal Town, Cantonment, Ravi Town and Samanabad Town. In Gujranwala district, the smart lockdown has been imposed in three areas in Gujranwala and Wazirabad Tehsils.
