Go is an example of a machine algorithm that was to play against the ancient game of go. Its vastly more complicated back in 1997. There are more possible moves in the game of go then there are atoms in the universe and that means the traditional technique of trying to search exhaustively , even a tiny fraction of the moves is completely infeasible. For that reason, as recently as 2016, computer scientists were surveyed when they thought machines would be able to beat humans at the game of go and they predicted probably around 2027. That was the median estimate. As some of you in the audience know, they did beat the chip World Champion and gold last year end they did it by using a new technique by looking at the board and seeing patterns. Thats the way humans do it. If you ask people how they play it, they can explain it. They say they look at the board when they see a move that seems right but they can explain how. They cant describe strategy or tell you exactly what theyre doing. You

Lets take a look at the weather. Good evening. A little bit of snow across the hills of wales, and some icy patches tonight as well. That mix of weather continues into tomorrow. Some of us will have sunshine, of us will have rain. In the short term it is very hit and miss and it is unclear whether around as well but it is the northern half of the uk with the temperatures will dip away a bit tonight, perhaps one or two degrees above freezing in towns. The forsyth staying frost free for sure, so no ice for the south the far south staying. If you live in the north east, newcastle and the lowla nds north east, newcastle and the lowlands of scotland, and northwards, it should be a sunny crisp day for you. Down south, it should be grisly and unpleasant and that will continue into sunday and even monday to be honest is looking pretty great as well across most of the uk. The week ahead will be a mishmash of weather. From sunny too rainy or the other way around. That is it for now. Hello, this
More. Congressman, welcome. Thank you for having me back on. I want to ask you something that happened this week about donald trump, the president , of course, tweeting that perhaps u. C. Berkeley should lose its funding as a result of of the protests and cancelation of a right wing speaker. Hes threatened funding for sanctuary cities such as san jose and San Francisco. As a member of the Budget Committee, is that just bluster to you, or how seriously do you take it . I certainly dont think my republican colleagues would go along with that type of intimidation. There are many people who believe in the first amendment. Im hopeful that on the Budget Committee i will be able to convince republicans and democrats not to do that. Of course i disagree with that. Any of the president s tweets, that type of intimidation messages. On the other hand, theres a possible funding hit on obamacare, the Affordable Care act. The republicans have talked about repealing that. California gets about 15 bil
