Botanic Gardens College of Horticulture
Teagasc College of Amenity Horticulture
The College of Amenity Horticulture is located at the National Botanic Gardens of Ireland, Dublin. Having our college located in the National Botanic Gardens provides students with a unique training opportunity. There is a strong tradition of training at the National Botanic Gardens dating back to 1812. Our aim is to train students for employment in the amenity horticulture industry. We provide our training in association with OPW, Dublin Municipal Parks departments and a large selection of Horticultural Businesses. Currently we are providing training for 300 students between all our courses. There is a balance of both school leavers and mature participants among the students. The College of Amenity Horticulture is non-residential with students finding accommodation in the locality.

Many people are kinaesthetic learners; they learn best by touching and doing, as opposed to reading or writing.
This is particularly relevant among those of us interested in agriculture and horticulture.
With this learning type in mind, Teagasc provides a range of hands-on education and training programmes at their colleges nationwide.
Agriculture
Study a level five certificate in agriculture at one of the six Teagasc-approved agricultural colleges across the country.
While each of the colleges are unique, they all provide a practical educational experience and a QQI-approved level five qualification, which will allow students to progress to a level six course or embark on a successful career in agriculture.
