Events - Try Horticulture - Focus on Level 7 course and opportunities - Teagasc | Agriculture and Food Development Authority

Event Time 12:30pm Venue Online The Teagasc College of Amenity Horticulture in the National Botanic Gardens will hold the first of a series of virtual information events on Friday, 29th January at 12:30pm for one hour through Zoom. During this session staff from the College will present information on the college courses and answer questions live from the audience. If you have an interest in pursuing courses in Horticulture at our college please log on to our event and the panel will answer any questions that you may have. It is hoped that these events will be repeated each month throughout the first half of the year and as restrictions allow, the college will endeavor to have face to face engagement with prospective students in the Botanic Gardens and in the campus in Ashtown.

2020 - Assistant Principal appointed at Teagasc College of Amenity Horticulture - Teagasc | Agriculture and Food Development Authority

Assistant Principal appointed at Teagasc College of Amenity Horticulture Deirdre Walsh is the new Assistant Principal in the Teagasc College of Amenity Horticulture at the National Botanic Gardens in Dublin. Originally from a dairy farm in Kilcash, County Tipperary, Deirdre Walsh initially studied Horticulture in the Teagasc Kildalton College and Waterford Institute of Technology, and went on to receive an Honours Degree from University College Dublin with a BSc in Landscape Architecture. In 2020 she graduated with a Postgraduate Diploma in Teaching in Further Education from Waterford Institute of Technology. Deirdre Walsh has been a college lecturer for the past four years at the Teagasc College of Amenity Horticulture at the National Botanic Gardens. During this time, she has facilitated and encouraged the adoption of technology in all aspects of horticultural training. Before lecturing, she worked from many years in Eastern Long Island,  New York, with a multi-faceted landsca
