On September 9, the "Pu'er Jingmai Mountain Ancient Tea Forest Cultural Landscape" project was inscribed on the World Heritage List, becoming the 17th World Heritage Site in China. In Pu'er, in Jing mai Mountain, tea is an ancient belief and a way of life. The local Brown people believe that tea is equivalent to their life, and tea is used in sacrifices, weddings and funerals, and entertainment. The tea tree that first sprouted in his own tea forest is regarded as the tea soul tree, which is the master of this tea plantation.
The Jingmai Mountain Ancient Tea Forest Cultural Landscape is located in Lancang County, Pu'er City, Yunnan Province. The heritage elements include 5 ancient tea forests, 9 ancient villages, and 3 separate shelter forests. The estimated number of ancient tea trees exceeds 120.2 million, most of which are 5 to 12 meters tall. The top layer of the tea forest is made of tall trees, the middle is a layer of small trees and shrubs dominated by tea trees, and the ground is herbaceous.
