In the annual report for the fiscal year 2022-23, TCS said Gopinathan earned over Rs 25 crore as commission, a salary of Rs 1.73 crore and Rs 2.43 crore in other benefits.
As he settles into his new role at the corner office, the new TCS chief executive will have to focus on ensuring growth in key markets such as the US and Europe, and striking the right balance between growth-focused large deal wins and small/ mid-sized deals, say analysts.
Krithivasan, who has been at TCS for over 34 years now, will be the oldest CEO appointment so far. His predecessor, Gopinathan, was the youngest appointee, taking up the role in 2017, aged 46.
Rajesh Gopinathan will remain in the company till September 16 for the smooth transition of his successor, K Krithivasan, who takes over the baton on June 1.
