COLUMBUS – The Republican infighting over now-former Rep. Larry Householder spilled over into a Columbus restaurant earlier this month, with Green Township Rep. Bill Seitz emerging as Householder s defender once again.
Seitz and Rep. Jon Cross, R-Kenton, were both dining separately at Lindey s, a sophisticated restaurant in Columbus German Village frequented by GOP lawmakers, on June 9. That s when a verbal dispute broke out, observed by several other lawmakers and lobbyists.
Seitz opposed Householder s removal, publicly and privately, and Cross backed the effort to expel Householder from the chamber.
Rep. Cindy Abrams, R-Harrison, who was at the restaurant, explained what she saw: Words were exchanged over two different sides of the Householder vote. Families sometimes disagree.
