COLUMBUS – The Republican infighting over now-former Rep. Larry Householder spilled over into a Columbus restaurant earlier this month, with Green Township Rep. Bill Seitz emerging as Householder's defender once again.
Seitz and Rep. Jon Cross, R-Kenton, were both dining separately at Lindey's, a sophisticated restaurant in Columbus' German Village frequented by GOP lawmakers, on June 9. That's when a verbal dispute broke out, observed by several other lawmakers and lobbyists.
Seitz opposed Householder's removal, publicly and privately, and Cross backed the effort to expel Householder from the chamber.
Rep. Cindy Abrams, R-Harrison, who was at the restaurant, explained what she saw: "Words were exchanged over two different sides of the Householder vote. Families sometimes disagree."
