The City of Tallahassee is asking a federal judge to dismiss a lawsuit over free speech issues. Former Citizens Police Review board member Taylor Biro is suing the city after being removed from the board, saying the action violates First Amendment rights.
The city of Tallahassee filed a motion with the U.S. District Court Northern District of Florida to dismiss a complaint by Taylor Biro, a former member of the city’s Citizens Police Review Board.
Taylor Biro was a member of the Citizens Police Review board after serving for 2 years, she is now taking legal action against the city of Tallahassee.
The city commission dismissed Taylor Biro from her volunteer position for displaying the words "Abolish the police" on her cup. Now she's suing Tallahassee for violating her First Amendment rights.
