According to earlier HC proceedings, the Maharashtra government had failed to set precise criteria for awarding licences and regulating the activities of such taxi aggregators.
India s first Air Taxi service has been launched in Chandigarh, under the government s UDAN scheme.
The service is being run by AirTaxi India. In the first phase, the company will operate Air Taxi services on the Chandigarh - Hisar route. On January 18, the company will start a flight from Hisar to Dehradun and in the third phase (Jan 23) Chandigarh - Dehradun and Hisar - Dharamsala routes will be introduced. The company also plans to connect Shimla, Kullu and other places in Haryana with the Air Taxi service.
AirTaxi India has a fleet of Tecnam P2006T twin-engine aircrafts. These can seat up to 4 people.
