India s first Air Taxi service has been launched in Chandigarh, under the government s UDAN scheme.
The service is being run by AirTaxi India. In the first phase, the company will operate Air Taxi services on the Chandigarh - Hisar route. On January 18, the company will start a flight from Hisar to Dehradun and in the third phase (Jan 23) Chandigarh - Dehradun and Hisar - Dharamsala routes will be introduced. The company also plans to connect Shimla, Kullu and other places in Haryana with the Air Taxi service.
AirTaxi India has a fleet of Tecnam P2006T twin-engine aircrafts. These can seat up to 4 people.

Chandigarh: First flight to the newly constructed Hisar airport in Haryana from Chandigarh was flagged off on Wednesday under the Regional Connectivity Scheme – Ude Desh Ka Aam Nagrik (RCS-UDAN) scheme.
The flight was flagged off by Haryana CM Manohar Lal Khattar during the inauguration ceremony attended by the senior officials of the Ministry of Civil Aviation (MoCA) & Airport Authority of India (AAI). It marked the operationalization of 54th airport under the UDAN scheme. India s first Air Taxi service has been launched in Chandigarh which was inaugurated by Manohar Lal Khattar at the Chandigarh Airport launched under the UDAN scheme of the government. The flight was from Chandigarh to Hisar. For the first time in the country, a small aircraft in the form of an air taxi is being used for services, said the Chief Minister at the moment. In the second phase of the project, a flight from Hisar to Dehradun will also be started next week on January 18.
