so one of the issues is i actually disagree a little bit with mike. i think if, for instance, you had democrats win maybe both the presidency and keep the senate and/or if you have republicans take over everything, then you would have some real movement to do something different. that s the question. if it s a slam dunk election in one way, is there more leverage? that s what you heard from the vice president in my interview a couple weeks ago. if we win we re not negotiating on taxes. totally true. if they win, the democrats run the table. i think rates are going to go up dramatically, particularly for dividends, capital gains. i think we can get rid of a lot of the loopholes like romney got. no more conversion of ordinary income into capital gains. this is not an easy thing, mayor. the idea of tax reform fundamentally changing. this is where the president s been criticized. why didn t he try to do that. it might be an easier bipartisan thing to fix than some of these other ar
