The fourth edition of the IHF Men's World Championship took place in Germany 62 years ago.
Won by Romania, who were coached by Oprea Vlase and Niculae Nedeff, the Netherlands were one of the 12 teams who participated.
Their campaign was short-lived, though. An opening loss against hosts Germany (7:33) was followed by a defeat against France (11:21) in preliminary group B, and they were out of contention.
Olympic champions France made it six wins from six going into the
quarter-finals of the International Handball Federation Men's World
Championship with an impressive victory over Spain, as Hungary sneaked
into the last eight.
Spain, France and co-hosts Sweden reached the quarter-finals as the
main round continued at the International Handball Federation Men’s
World Championship.
Poland secured their second win at the 2023 IHF Men's World Championship (27:20), against Montenegro, after an immense performance from goalkeeper Mateusz Kornecki, who frustrated the opponents throughout the whole 60 minutes of the match.
