When Derrick Haggerty opened Dr. Odd s Tattoo Emporium, his idea was to create an inclusive space that was different than a typical tattoo shop.
Often when people walk into various tattoo shops, Haggerty noted, the shop itself is very niche in design. Whether that be biker, hipster, or any other clique his shop was going to be different in that it felt welcoming to those of all walks of life.
“It’s kind of a unique and unusual shop,” Haggerty said. “It’s different than what most people are used to when they walk in. I like to tell people I tried to create an environment where anyone can come in and be comfortable.”
