Leicester City will be playing in the Barclays FA WSL for the first time ever next season, after finishing top of the Championship.
London City Lionesses keeper Shae Yanez conceded a penalty for catching Sam Tierney but then saved Charlie Devlin’s spot-kick.
Sam Tierney did break the deadlock midway through the second half via a free kick, on the follow up from her first attempt.
Natasha Flint volleyed home the Foxes second from an Esmee De Graaf cross, as Leicester secured the win and therefore moved beyond the reach of title rivals Durham.

Leicester City went three points clear at the top of the FA Women’s Championship with a 2-0 result at promotion rivals Durham.

Sam Tierney scored twice as Leicester City put breathing space between the Foxes and the Wildcats, with a game still in hand.
Hannah Cain came close to opening the scoring for the Foxes but Megan Borthwick tipped her effort round the post.

Coventry United climbed off the foot of the FA Women’s Championship with a big 1-0 win over London City Lionesses.

Crackle cracks home Coventry winner
A single goal gave Coventry United a huge boost in their battle to stay up, as Hayley Crackle struck from 30 yards midway through the first half.
Destiny Toussaint earlier had a header superbly saved by Shae Yanez, before setting up Crackle’s goal.
