Target killers gun down three in Panjgur, Kech Sources familiar with the matter said two persons were gunned down in a drive-by shooting QUETTA: At least three people were killed in separate firing incidents in Balochistan’s Panjgur and Kech district on Monday. Sources familiar with the matter said two persons were gunned down in a drive-by shooting when unidentified armed motorists opened fire on a vehicle near Chitkan bypass area of Panjgur town. According to police, the deceased persons were identified as Khan Jan and Amir Bux. The assailants managed to escape successfully after committing the crime. The bodies of the deceased persons were shifted to Panjgur District Headquarter Hospital and later handed over to heirs after completion of medico legal formalities.

Baghlan hospital chief killed in targeted attack

(Last Updated On: February 23, 2021) Khalil-ur-Rahman Narmgui, chief of the Baghlan-e-Markazi district hospital, in Baghlan province was killed in an attack by Taliban militants on Tuesday evening, the Interior Ministry (MoI) confirmed. NAI, a media advocacy group, said in a statement that Narmgui was the former head of the journalists union in Baghlan. According to the statement, Narmgui was shot dead in the Sarak-e-Panj area of the Baghlan-e-Markazi district while he was on his way to Pul-e-Khumri city of the province. Meanwhile, NAI urged the government to arrest and prosecute the culprits. The Taliban has not commented yet. This comes as targeted killings have increased across the country.

Gunmen shoot Jalalabad doctor in targeted killing

(Last Updated On: February 16, 2021) Security officials in Nangarhar province said Tuesday morning that at least three people including a doctor were assassinated in Jalalabad city. The incident happened at about 8am in PD4 near Nasrat High School. Farid Khan, spokesman for Nangarhar police HQ confirmed the incident, and said gunmen opened fire on Dr Maihan Yousof when he was on his way to work.  Yousof and his two bodyguards died in the hail of bullets.  Photos taken at the scene after the attack show bullet holes on the back door of the Toyota Corolla Yousof had been traveling in.  Khan said the attackers immediately fled the area after the shooting. He added that police were investigating the incident.
