MONMOUTH, ILL. (02/11/2023) The Monmouth College women's basketball team fell to Ripon College 69-49 on Saturday. The Fighting Scots (10-14, 6-9) will wrap up the regular season on Tuesday at Cornell. Ripon got off to a hot start with an 8-0 lead before Lily Harlan (Washington, Illinois) made a jumper to get the Scots on the board. Zoie Wall (Bartonville, Illinois) made a 3-pointer and Harlan knocked down two free throws to cut the lead to 10-7. Allie Hoy (Woodland, Illinois) got a bucket to answer Ripon's score. The Fighting Scots (9-12, 5-7) are now a game behind the Lady Blues in the Midwest Conference standings with four games left to play. Neither team scored for the first four minutes of the game until Tarae Warner (Burlington, Iowa) hit a 3-pointer. The Fighting Scots (8-9, 4-4) have won three of the last four home games and are tied for fourth in the Midwest Conference after handing the Rams just their second MWC defeat.
