CEDAR RAPIDS, Iowa Mekayla Gibson picked up her second individual race title of the season, and William Woods easily cruised past the field at the Seminole Valley Stampede, scoring a season-best 33 points to claim the top spot in the seven-team event. All five scoring runners for the Owls finished in the top 15, with Sarah Kirby picking up a new PR by better than a minute with a time of 20:12.0.
NEVADA, Mo. Although William Woods was without top returner Ellie Dimond for the season s opening meet, the Owls brought home the individual title and a second-place finish from the Cottey College Invitational on Friday.
The William Woods University women s track and field team placed second out of 18 teams at the Jim Green Invite hosted by Illinois College Saturday afternoon in Jacksonville, Illinois. Katie French again hit the NAIA "A" Standard in the shot put while also hitting the NAIA "B" Standard and breaking the WWU record in the weight throw.
