An apparent innocent bystander was killed and at least five others – including two teenagers – were injured when gunfire erupted on a subway train as it pulled into a Bronx station during rush-hour Monday afternoon, police and law enforcement sources said.

STATEN ISLAND, N.Y. First Central Baptist Church celebrated on Saturday its 16th annual Staten Island Black History Month Town Hall Meeting a highly-anticipated event at the end of Black History Month, hosted by the Rev. Dr. Demetrius Carolina, pastor of the church on Wright Street, Stapleton.
The two-hour event celebrated and discussed issues affecting the borough’s Black community and highlighted individuals who have positively impacted Staten Island.
