Six members of the same family have been discovered dead in their Texas home in what police say is a murder-suicide.
Officers from the Allen Police Department were called to the house in the early hours of Monday, where they found the six bodies.
They were responding to a welfare check on behalf of a friend of a young man who lived at the home who was thought to be suicidal.
A grandparent, mother, father, and three children were found with gunshot wounds.

The Allen Police Department said two brothers killed four family members before killing themselves.
Officers discovered the six family members at a home in the Dallas suburb at approximately 1 a.m. on Monday after a friend of the family called to report a social media post from one of the brothers, the Allen Police Department confirmed to The Hill.

The brother posted a suicide letter on social media describing the graphic incident.
The six deceased are the brothers, Farhan Towhid and Tanvir Towhid; their father, Towhidul Islam; their mother, Iren Islam; their grandmother, Altafun Nessa; and their 19-year-old sister, Farbin Towhid.

CBS DFW reports 19-year old Farhan Towhid left a suicide note on social media detailing how he’s been battling depression since 9th grade. He wrote about an agreement he made with his brother, Tanvir Towhid, 21.
“If we can’t fix everything in a year, we’ll kill ourselves and our family,” he wrote.
Police conducted a welfare check on the family after receiving a call from a concerned friend.
“The friend had seen the post that his friend made on Instagram, and that’s what made him call and say that he was concerned for his wellbeing,” Allen Police Sgt. Jon Felty said.
