Devised Theater
On December 8-9, the Mississippi School of the arts held a devised theater showcase in honor of the late singer/songwriter David Bowie. The show was written by Robert Brooks (head of the theater department) and artistic direction was by Tammy Stanford (head of the dance department). Each senior theater student was given a scene to direct they had control over the lighting, costuming, casting, and music of their respective scenes.
The show utilized minimalistic design for all the scenes. For the most part performers wore traditional theater black. Lighting was also kept very minimal however, a few scenes did use spotlights and simple lighting changes. The most impressive thing about the show was that even though it was a stage
