Double team skeet success for hosts Italy at ISSF Shotgun World Cup Tuesday, 11 May 2021
Host Italy won both the men s and women s team skeet events at the International Shooting Sport Federation (ISSF) Shotgun World Cup in Lonato today.
The women s team - featuring reigning Olympic champion Diana Bacosi, Rio 2016 runner-up Chiara Cainero and Chiara Di Marziantonio - topped qualification to set up a gold-medal showdown with the United States.
Austen Smith, the winner of yesterday s solo event, was among the American ranks, but they fell 6-4 to the Italians.
Slovakia overcame the Czech Republic by the same scoreline to earn the bronze medal.

Lonato : , May 10 (IANS) India s Gurjoat Khangura and Angadvir Singh Bajwa failed to advance to the final of men s skeet event at the Italian World Cup here on Monday.
The top six shooters in the qualification round enter the final. Khangura ended 34th while Bajwa finished in 50th place.
The competitors have to shoot three series of 25 shots each on the opening day and two series of 25 shots each on the second day.
After a steady performance of 74 in the opening three series of 25 each, Khangura was off target on Monday as he shot 24 and 22 in the two series of 25 each for an aggregate total of 120 out of 125 in the preliminary round.

New Delhi, May 10 : India s Gurjoat Singh Khangura made a promising start by shooting 74 out of 75 in the opening three rounds of the men s skeet event of the Shotgun World Cup in Lonato, Italy, on Sunday.
But Angadvir Singh Bajwa, who has qualified for the Tokyo Olympic Games, shot a sub-par 71 in the opening three rounds.
Despite his good score, Khangura is lying at the 13th spot out of 55 competitors while Bajwa is at the bottom of the table. His position is 53rd.
